Renewing midlife skin with the 28-Day Face Cleanse

I´ve been taking care of my skin, both inside and out, from the age of 12 or 13. That´s a lot of years, and I´m glad I made it a habit early on. Now, I´m trying to instill the concept of skincare and self care to my teen and tween daughters because over time it does make a difference. It´s really all about making it a routine just like brushing your teeth.

Once you make it a  habit, you won´t imagine not pampering your skin.

  • Every morning and evening, I write down three things I’m grateful for. It could be anything, from sunny weather to being alive one more day.
  • Every day I go for a walk or a run with my dog. Whether it’s 20 minutes or 1 hour, walking or running helps me unwind and destress.
  • Every evening before I go to bed I stretch for 5 minutes. It may not sound like much, but consistency is key.
  • During the day I set an alarm every hour while I’m working, to remind myself to drink water to cleanse my body, and to walk around and stretch for a few minutes.
  • While I’m working at my laptop, I listen to classical music or Tibetan chants. They help me focus and stay calm.
  • Fruits, but especially veggies, are a big part of my daily diet.
  • At night I cuddle with my kids even though they are teens and tweens. My 11-year-old and I read inspirational quotes and tell each other what we think they mean.
  • Every day while I’m driving or walking I listen to inspirational audio-books. They help me stay on track.
  • Each morning I follow a skin-care regimen that involves cleansing, exfoliating and applying serum, eye cream and day lotion with SPF. At night I do it all over but use night-cream.
