Thinning hair isn’t exclusive to the hair on your head, ladies. As you age you may also notice the hair on the rest of your body becoming sparse as well. While that may be a blessing when it comes to your legs, not so much for your eyelashes. Never mind if you had thinner lashes to start with. Here are some tips to keep your lashes thick and luscious.
1.- Start with grooming
You know the little comb side of your eyebrow brush? That’s actually for your eyelashes. Combing your lashes once or twice a day will help stimulate growth, just as brushing the hair on your head does. Oh, and always wash your eye area gently. Not only will being gentle keep you from shedding too many lashes, it’ll also minimize the risk of causing more wrinkles.
2.- Oil them up
Vitamin E oil, olive oil and castor oil can all help strengthen your eyelashes. The vitamin E can help with shedding and should be applied during your combing routine. Olive oil can be used as a deep treatment to helps strengthen your lashes and stimulate growth — just apply with a cotton ball and leave on for five minutes per day. Castor oil can be applied and left on overnight to help thicken lashes and prevent breakage.

3.- Supplement smartly
In addition to taking a daily multivitamin that includes vitamins B, D and E, which are said to promote hair growth, many women have success with Biotin supplementation. Biotin is a B-vitamin that is known for producing keratin which is the type of protein that hair is made of. Increasing the amount of Biotin in your body can increase growth.
4.- Be patient
It’s important to remember that none of these methods are going to produce overnight results. It will take time and consistency, so don’t give up if you’re not seeing any change after a few days. I suggest giving it at least a month of daily combing, conditioning and supplementing before moving on.
